60pp. of prose essay, followed by monotone illustrations printed on rectos with facing captions. Soupault [1897-1990] was an important figure in French literature, a co-founder (with Andre Breton) of the Surrealist Movement. He translated Blake's Songs of Innocence and Experience into French, and believed that Blake pre-figured the surrealist concept in his work. An important book.
