This is a documentary about the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and its students in the 1930s, who immigrated to Israel mainly from Eastern Europe with the help of immigration certificates (certificates) that the University obtained from them from the British Mandate authorities. The book describes the memories of more than one hundred of the graduates of the certificates about the motives for this immigration, the Hebrew schools in the Diaspora, their yearning for the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, and their lives in Israel and the university in the first years of their immigration.
