Ludwig August Frankl – “Aus Egypten” Vienna, 1860 - A rare first edition of Ludwig August Frankl’s travelogue, documenting his journey through Egypt in the mid-19th century. Frankl (1810–1894), a prominent Austrian-Jewish poet and writer, provides rich descriptions of Egyptian culture, society, and Jewish life in the region. This first edition was printed in Vienna in 1860 by Typographisch-literarische-artistischen Anstalt. The book contains 355 pages in octavo format (22 cm). The copy is bound in late binding, showing signs of wear, especially along the edges. Some age-related foxing on pages, but the text remains clear and legible.
