Rare Postcard: “This is Part of the Hebrew Battalion”, 1935 – with Photo of Soldiers and a Zionist Dedication - A rare and historic postcard dated 1935 featuring a printed photograph of Jewish Legion soldiers from World War I. The caption on the front states that this is part of the Hebrew Battalion, describing how the 40th Battalion joined the 38th under the leadership of the famous commander, Lt. Col. John Patterson. On the back, a powerful Hebrew inscription reads: “In memory of those days – days of longing for the liberation of our land!” Published by I. Rosenberg, himself a soldier in the Hebrew Battalion, and printed in Tel Aviv in 1935 (noted on copyright line). A remarkable and highly collectible item of Jewish military and Zionist history.
