Original Engraving – Interior of the Church of Saint Helena, Bethlehem – by F. Stroobant (1844) - A rare and highly detailed 1844 original engraving depicting the interior of the Church of Saint Helena in Bethlehem. After a drawing by F. Stroobant, signed in the plate (lower left), and printed by J. Lots. The scene is beautifully composed, showing richly ornamented Corinthian columns, hanging oil lamps, painted icons, and a congregation of local and foreign visitors in traditional 19th-century attire. The work captures the spiritual atmosphere and architectural grandeur of the church interior, highlighting religious and cultural intersections. Printed on thick paper with wide margins. The print is in very good condition considering its age, with some light foxing near the edges—image area unaffected. Plate dimensions (excluding margins): approx. 40×28 cm. A rare museum-quality print, ideal for collectors of antique engravings, Christian Holy Land scenes, or 19th-century architectural illustrations.
