Lot of Sheet Music – Gabriel Grad, Poems by Uri Zvi Greenberg & Others - A rare lot of 8 sheet music booklets composed by Gabriel Grad, one of the notable composers of early Eretz-Israel music. The lot includes five booklets set to the poetry of the great Hebrew modernist Uri Zvi Greenberg, and three others based on the works of Hanoch Lederman, Yigal Carmi, and Avraham Avronin. Published by the Agricultural Workers’ Union in Tel Aviv, each booklet bears the emblem of the Histadrut. The scores feature vocal and piano arrangements with Hebrew lyrics, representing a unique fusion of Hebrew modernist poetry and pioneering musical composition in pre-state Israel. Well-preserved overall considering their age. An important acquisition for collectors of Hebrew sheet music, scholars of Israeli culture, and admirers of Uri Zvi Greenberg’s poetry.
