Lot of 14 Original Plates from Eduard Fuchs’ Die Juden in der Karikatur – First Edition, Munich 1921 – Antisemitic Caricatures & Propaganda - A rare lot of 14 original full-page plates removed from the first edition of Eduard Fuchs’ landmark study: Die Juden in der Karikatur: Ein Beitrag zur Kulturgeschichte Munich: Albert Langen Verlag, 1921. First edition. This important historical work documents the evolution of Jewish representation in European caricature from the Middle Ages through the early 20th century. Written by the Marxist cultural historian and collector Eduard Fuchs (1870–1940), the book examines antisemitic visual propaganda as a historical and cultural phenomenon rather than endorsing it.
