Naples, Gervasi, 1818. 4°, with 53 plates, three of which are folded and one double (view and plan of the famous Stufe di Baja also called “Sudatorj di Tritoli”), engraved on copper, ft, by G. Morghen, A. Zaballi, S. Bianchi and A. Cimarelli. Contemporary mz. leather binding with corners, label, title and gold decorations on the spine, coloured edges. Famous guide, by the illustrious scientist from Agrigento, in which after a description of the Posillipo hill, a detailed itinerary is illustrated that starts from the Grotta di Cocceio to reach Monte di Procida crossing the lake of Agnano, Pozzuoli, the lake Lucrino and the lake of Averno Cuma, Baja, the Elysian Fields and the Promontory of Capo Miseno and also corrects some inaccuracies that Antonio Pasquale Paoli incurred in his famous work “Avanzi delle antichità che esiste a Pozzuoli, Cuma e Baja”. Rare copy difficult to find complete with all the plates.
