A superb military portrait of Prince Karl of Bavaria (1795–1875) in full ceremonial regalia, mounted on a bay charger. In the background, the Karolinenplatz obelisk and his regiment are visible. The work is notable for its vibrant hand-coloring and the meticulous detail of the Cuirassier uniform and horse tack.
