Pre-philately. Hand-written letter. Sent from Beja on 16.5.1828, delivered with an order of cheeses to the Muleman Joaquim de Palma, it was received in Lisbon on 21.5. The letter violated postal regulations, as it would have to be taken to the post office to be properly franked. Curious and scarce.
