Pre-philately. Letter written in Lisbon on April 24, 1843, to Porto, with the handwritten indication ”per Packet steamer, ” and destined for Porto. It was not delivered to the post office, but rather to the agent JVZ, who marked it with his forwarding mark, and it arrived in Porto on April 26. Very rare correspondence from Lisbon to Porto, transported in contravention of postal regulations.
