Portuguese India official 1952 maximum cards of the “Quarto Centenario da Morte de S. Francisco Xavier 1552 - 1952”. A complete set of 3 plus 2 duplicates, 1 used. The cards depict the set of stamps in values of 6 reis (MF 426), 2 tangas (MF 427) and 5 tangas (MF 428). The 6 reis and 2 tangas cards have the actual stamps attached (MF 426 and 427) with “Mapuca” and “Goa” postmarks. The 5 tangas value was used domestically in Portugal with a 50 centavos “Caravela” issue (MF 623), and a “Lisboa” machine cancel. Good condition with one card nicked at the bottom. Interesting group.
