Postal history. Letter arriving from abroad. Sent from Riga on 16/6/1853. It has a departure mark from RIGA. It also has the marks AUS RUSSLAND/ FRANCO, Berlin 19/6, from the traveling mail agent Koln/ Verviers arriving in Lisbon on 29/06/53, and in Porto on 2/7/1853. In Lisbon, a postage of 2055 réis was applied, to which 130 réis were added for the journey from Lisbon to Porto. To this total of 2185 were added 10 réis for the postage box, and 105 réis for LEY, now with a total of 2,300 réis to be paid by the recipient. (See handwritten indication on the back). It transited through Lisbon on the last day of the pre-philatelic season, and through Porto on the 2nd day of the philatelic season. MR and MB
