Bidspirit auction | Pre-philately. Letter written in Cadiz

Pre-philately. Letter written in Cadiz on 5 September 1846, delivered to the British Consulate, where it was marked with BC/CADIZ, which sent it on the British packet Queen, arriving in Lisbon on 7 July. It was marked with P. Britº LSB-Pb 1 and the postage of 180 reis was applied. On the back it has the inscription “I don’t want to pay, Souza”. The arrival date in Lisbon is marked with the reverse (month and year reversed). See page 497 of the book Portuguese Pre-philately.
