Postal history. Patuleia War. British packets. Besides letters from abroad, correspondence between Porto and Lisbon was also carried out using British packets. The letter presented here was written in Porto on November 1st, 1846. It arrived in Lisbon on November 2nd. It was transported by a British packet, bearing the P. BRITº mark and a postage of 180 réis. A very rare piece. Letters sent from Lisbon to Porto are known, but very few letters sent from Porto to Lisbon were transported by British packets.
