José Fama, with cargo ready, and I intend to leave Calcutta for the ship on the 10th and send a pilot to Rio de Janeiro by the 15th (June).” On the back it was inscribed: Forwarded by your V&C PEDRA & Co., London December 27, 1815, who paid 3/2 for the receipt of the letter, and sent it to Lisbon by the Falmouth packet, handwritten postage in Lisbon of 420 reis, received on January 8, 1818. Very rare.
