Postal history. Maritime health. Health Center of the Port of Belém. In Belém, upon arrival, it was marked C. Est. de N. and the postage of 20 réis was applied. It has the mark of the chief health officer of the Port of Belém in red. Written on the back: “By the Hanoverian galley Ondraght, comes from Gibraltar. Brandão”. This letter, dated 21/6/1826, was delivered to the services of the chief health officer during the health visit, who applied the mark and the postage of 20 réis, considering it a local letter. It is one of the few known examples of the application of the 20 réis postage on a letter from a ship in quarantine. Very beautiful and very rare.
