Portugal Postage. Letter sent on 8/01/1943 from Coimbra post to Lisbon with a postage of 50 centavos. At the Coimbra post office, it was verified that the letter weighed more than 20 grams (in this case 39 grams), therefore it should have an additional 50 centavos postage. Thus, a postage stamp was applied for 1$00, corresponding to double the missing amount. In Lisbon, it received the 8th stamp from the distribution zone, and the 1$00 postage stamps were affixed, paid by the recipient.
