Diary of a Religious Pioneer who Came to Palestine from Germany 1936-1933

Handwritten diary of Peretz Kleinberger born in Germany and made Aliyah in 1934

The diary begins with Peretz's date of birth (1915) and a brief summary of his life up to 1936. Apparently Peretz began writing the diary in 1933 during the process of training for Aliyah. At the beginning of the diary, about 20 blank pages were left where summaries, and memories were written, probably in 1936. (A small number of pages remained blank).

Almost daily entries in the diary with descriptions in real time begin on the first of October 1934, and continue (with small breaks) until June 1936. The diary ends on June 23, 1936, on the last page there is another entry dated April 1, 1938, probably the day his mother immigrated to Eratz Israel.

The diary is written in German with very little Hebrew and Yiddish. Not researched in depth. Written on a 21x16 cm notebook. With 60-70 double pages, over 100 handwritten pages. Very good condition.

 In addition, 2 double handwritten pages from 1933 (a circle is cut from the center and the pages are incomplete). KKL postcard from Germany around 1920, planting trees in the name of Peretz.
