Germany Military Forces in Palestine – WWI postcard Jerusalem W/ Feldpost Mil. - During WWI Germany did send troops to Palestine to support the weak Ottoman armies. This soldier wrote home from Jerusalem to Berlin on 22 December 1916. The postmark reads 'Mil(itary) Mission' which was the German effort of support for the Ottomans. The picture side of the postcard shows a view of the Old City of Jerusalem. It is looking west from the Mount of Olives. The Dome of the Rock is prominent in the left fore- ground.
