Holocaust, Cloth Bag of a Jewish Prisoner. Bergen-Belsen Camp - 1940s - A bag made of fabric identical to the uniform worn by the prisoners in Bergen-Belsen. The front of the bag reads: K.L BERGEN – BELSEN KLARA BERGER The label that bore the prisoner's number has been removed from the bag. According to the records on the Yad Vashem website, there were several prisoners named Clara Berger in the Bergen-Belsen camp, but only one of them survived the Holocaust. We were unable to find any further information about her. Dimensions: 40x35 cm. Closed. 40x58 cm. Open. The length of the strap is 130 cm. Good condition. The item originated in the collections of Mr. Aryeh Pavel Lavie, a Holocaust survivor himself. Mr. Lavie is already 93 years old and does not remember how the item came into his possession. Mr. Lavie worked as a policeman and a professional photographer. Mr. Lavie is an enthusiastic eclectic collector, and among his many collections is a collection commemorating the Holocaust.
