Jewish Brigade, Recommendation Letter for Army Enlistment – 1940 - Handwritten recommendation letter dated 20 July 1940, written and signed by the Mukhtar (headman) of the Yehuda Quarter, Petach Tikvah, recommending Yefet ben Busi, a Yemenite-born Jewish resident, for enlistment in His Majesty’s Army (the British Army). The letter confirms that the candidate has been living in Petach Tikvah since his arrival in 1920, and recommends him for acceptance into military service. At the bottom of the page appears an original round bilingual stamp reading: “Mukhtar – Village Quarter Yehuda, Petach Tikvah”, alongside the Mukhtar’s handwritten signature.
