Active service military cover – Jewish Brigade, Italy to Tel Aviv, 1943 - Active service envelope dated 24 December 1943, sent from Italy to Tel Aviv, Palestine, addressed to Miss Bracha Goldenberg. Bearing clear postal and censor markings: FIELD POST OFFICE 796, PASSED BY CENSOR No. 6697, and multiple transit marks on reverse including Tel Aviv arrival 11 Jan 1944. Sent by a Jewish soldier of the 178th General Transport Company, which had just been transferred to Taranto and later Foggia, Italy, supplying Allied troops in the north.
