Jewish Brigade – British Army Soldier’s Service and Pay Book, Palestine, 1940–1945 - Jewish Brigade – Soldier’s Service and Pay Book, Palestine, 1940–1945 Original Army Book 64 (Soldier’s Service and Pay Book) belonging to Zacharias Negris, born 1903, a Greek-born Jewish immigrant to Palestine who enlisted in the A.M.P.C. – Auxiliary Military Pioneer Corps on 7 November 1940, later transferred to the Royal Engineers. Served as a fitter in mechanical units until his discharge on 6 December 1945. Contains personal and service details, physical description, leave notes, stamps, and official entries. His conduct was rated Very Good. Served three years and 157 days overseas and was awarded the Africa Star with 8th Army clasp. Includes original documents issued upon discharge: Final Payment on Discharge form (Jerusalem, 4 Dec 1945). Receipt for Civilian Clothing listing issued items (suit, coat, hat, shoes, etc.). Appendix to A.C.I. 318/42 discharge certificate. Signed leave record and workshop note from Engineer Base Workshops, dated 18 Apr 1945. Condition: Fair, signs of wear, pages partially detached.
