Jewish Brigade – 178 Transport Company, Postcard from Belgium, 1946 - Postcard sent from Belgium on 14 March 1946 by Moshe Laijchter, a soldier of the 178 Transport Company, Royal Army Service Corps (R.A.S.C.), part of the Jewish Brigade Group, to his parents in Tel Aviv, Palestine. The card bears a violet military postal cancellation: “178 COY RASC – (Pal) (Jewish Bde Gp) – 14 MAR 1946”, and marked O.A.S (On Active Service). Written in Hebrew on a photographic postcard depicting the port of Antwerp (Het Steen et le Port). The message describes the soldier’s everyday life and conditions in postwar Belgium, where the Brigade assisted Jewish refugees and maintained supply operations. Approx. size: 9×14 cm. Condition: Very good, minor wear consistent with age and postal use.
