Recruitment Labels, Jewish Brigade - 1940s. & 1979 - “Enlist!” Recruitment Label – Issued in pre-state Eretz Israel, early 1940s. Striking two-color lithographic design (black and orange), depicting a soldier blowing a shofar against a backdrop of fields. Hebrew text: “For freedom, for the people and the land – Enlist!” Very good condition, traces of gum on back. Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael (JNF) Label – Depicts an armed soldier with Israeli flag, surrounded by the emblems of British Army units and the Jewish Brigade. Blue print on thick paper, face value 10 mils. Preserved with top margin attached. Israel Postage Stamp, 1979 – “1939–1945: Yishuv Volunteers in the British Army” Denomination 5.10 lira. Design by David Ben-Shimon, quotation from Isaiah 6:8: “Here am I; send me.” Mint, with printed bottom tab. Items from the collections of Jacob Yablok - VirtualJewishmuseum.com.
