David Yellin Signed Postcard, Hebrew Teachers’ Seminary Jerusalem, Ottoman Postal Service, 1914 - A postcard sent from Jerusalem to Jaffa via the Ottoman postal service, bearing an Ottoman stamp and a clear postal cancellation. An official postcard of the Hebrew Teachers’ Seminary in Jerusalem, one of the central institutions in the revival of Hebrew education and language in Eretz-Israel. On the front, an address to Abraham Aba Nachum Kutner, a teacher at the Tachkemoni school in Jaffa. The reverse side contains a full Hebrew text in the handwriting of David Yellin, one of the founders of modern Hebrew education. At the bottom appears David Yellin’s original signature. Exact date: 14 Kislev 5675 — 11 December 1914. Sent via Ottoman postal service with original stamp and cancellation. Official Hebrew correspondence from the Hebrew Teachers’ Seminary in Jerusalem. Authentic autograph of David Yellin, in his own handwriting. Addressed to the educator Abraham Aba Nachum Kutner.
