Zion Cinema, Jerusalem – Admission Ticket to “Habima HaIvrit” – Yaakov the Blacksmith Thursday, 22 Tishrei 5680 (16 October 1919) - Original admission ticket to an early performance of “Habima HaIvrit” (The Hebrew Stage) in Jerusalem, for the staging of Yaakov the Blacksmith by David Pinski, one of the central works of modern Jewish drama. The performance took place at Zion Cinema, a key venue for early Hebrew cultural activity in Jerusalem in the years following World War I. The reverse of the ticket bears a printed list of participants. On the front of the ticket: — At right, a 5 mil stamp, indicating the admission price, in the currency used in Palestine during the British Military Administration following World War I. — At left, a Zion stamp, without a stated denomination. Dimensions: 8 × 10 cm. Condition: Good, with light signs of age and handling.
