Two Historical Photographs from Eretz Israel | Shlomo Narinsky | Photogravure 1921, Reissued Edition 1980 - A pair of historical photogravure images by Shlomo Narinsky, one of the central figures in early Eretz Israel photography of the early 20th century. The images are based on original photogravures from 1921 and were reissued as a later edition, as noted on the reverse: Handlettered 1980. Original captions on the mounts: Between the Orange gardens Thrashing in Palestine Photogravure 1921 Signed: S. Narinsky The photographs document aspects of traditional agriculture and rural landscape in Eretz Israel during the early Mandate period, including the use of camels and working animals, orchards, and open fields. One of the images is associated with the area of Petah Tikva and its surroundings, a region known at the time for extensive orange groves. Technique and format: Sheet fed photogravure, later reissued edition. Photographs in postcard format. Mount size: approx. 21 × 15 cm. Condition: Excellent condition. Preserved in the original plastic sleeve as issued at the time of sale.  Important note: These are not original 1921 prints, but a reissued edition from 1980, based on Narinsky’s original photogravures.
