Municipal Election Candidate Lists | Tel Aviv | Eretz Israel, 1920s–1930s 18 Small Printed Campaign Leaflets - A collection of 18 small printed leaflets issued by various parties and lists, presenting candidate lists for municipal elections, most likely for the Tel Aviv City Council, and possibly also for other cities, during the British Mandate period. Notable lists include: “HaMerkaz HaMeuhad” (The United Center), “Poalei Zion”, “Association of Craftsmen”, “Yemenite List”, “Mizrachi, Mizrachi Hatzair and Non-Partisan Orthodox Lists”, and “Torah VaAvodah”. • Notable candidates: Among the candidates are Meir Dizengoff (first Mayor of Tel Aviv), Israel Rokach, Shoshana Persitz, and Yaakov Gazondaheit. Heading the “Middle Class” list is Avraham Lerner. Some of the leaflets appear in more than one copy (duplicates). Dimensions: approx. 20 × 9 cm. Condition: overall excellent, well-preserved paper with only minor signs of age.
