Israel – Ten Pounds Banknote | Anglo Palestine Bank | 1948 إسرائيل – ورقة نقدية من فئة عشر ليرات | بنك أنغلو فلسطين | 1948 - Ten Pounds banknote, denomination 10 Pounds, issued by the Anglo Palestine Bank, Tel Aviv, in 1948. The banknote served as a temporary means of payment during the transitional period following the establishment of the State of Israel, prior to the introduction of a permanent national currency. The banknote is printed in three languages: Hebrew, English, and Arabic. On the obverse appears a central Hebrew inscription and the denomination “10” within an ornamental frame, and on the reverse a symmetrical ornamental design with Arabic and English inscriptions. Printed by the American Bank Note Company, New York. Signatures: S. Hoofien and A. Barth. Series: D | Serial number: D 101332. Physical Condition  Based on the available scans and a recent physical examination: Thick, healthy, and stable paper, with full body and good structural integrity. Three light, soft creases are present: – One central crease, gentle and not sharp. – Two additional light creases, each located between the center of the note and the outer edges, on both sides. The creases are soft and do not exhibit sharp folds or fiber breaks. No additional folds are observed. Margins are full and relatively well balanced. Even coloration throughout. Light age toning and mild edge yellowing, consistent with the period. No tears, holes, repairs, or visible restorations. Final condition assessment: EF (Extremely Fine), conservative grading.
