The banknote served as a means of payment during the transitional period following the establishment of the State of Israel, prior to the introduction of a permanent national currency. The banknote is printed in three languages: Hebrew, English, and Arabic. The obverse features a central Hebrew inscription and the denomination within an ornamental frame, while the reverse displays a symmetrical ornamental design with inscriptions in Arabic and English. Printed by the American Bank Note Company, New York. Signatures: S. Hoofien and A. Barth. Series: E | Serial number: E 833421. Physical Condition – Current Evaluation Based on the available scans and a physical examination: Thick, healthy paper with full body and strength. One light central crease only. The crease is soft and not sharp. No additional folds observed. Full and relatively well-balanced margins. Even and uniform coloration. Light age-related signs, consistent with the period. No visible tears, holes, or repairs. Final Grade (Conservative): EF+ A high-end Extremely Fine note, above average for the grade, with a single soft central crease that prevents an AU designation, but without sharp folds, significant wear, or structural weaknesses.
