Israel – 50 Pruta Banknote | Legal Tender Proposal | Series 0118/B | No. 176089 إسرائيل – ورقة نقدية فئة 50 بروتا | نموذج عملة قانونية - 50 Pruta banknote, issued as part of the legal tender proposal and experimental issues of the State of Israel, early 1950s (circa). This note was not intended for regular circulation, but formed part of the design, paper, and printing evaluation process prior to the establishment of official circulating series. The design features a dense guilloché ornamental frame, with the denomination numeral “50” prominently displayed at the center, on both obverse and reverse. Hebrew inscriptions only; the design is consistent across the known variants. Color tone: light reddish with a brownish red hue, characteristic of early trial printings; overall color appears relatively even, with minor variations in ink depth due to printing pressure. On the reverse appear the serial number 176089 and series marking 0118/B, both printed in a relatively faint tone, consistent with known variants of these legal tender proposal notes. Several technically distinct but design identical variants are known, differing slightly in paper, color tone, and printing characteristics; the offered example belongs to this documented group, with no design variation. Physical Condition – Current Evaluation The note shows a moderate vertical central fold, visible on both sides. The paper is thick, firm, and healthy, with no brittleness, rot, or tears. Margins are intact; minor age toning and light overall wear consistent with experimental, non circulation notes. Conservative grade: VF (Very Fine)
