Israel – 50 Pruta, 1952 - Legal Tender Proposal Note - Variant: “Eshkol – Zaggagi” Series: ג | Serial Number: 469350 | Plate Code: 0119/ג - Issued in 1952 as part of Israel’s low denomination paper currency series, introduced to reduce the use of metal coinage. The 50 Pruta note was produced in several variants, distinguished by signatures, color tones, and series prefixes. This example belongs to the “Eshkol – Zaggagi” variant, bearing the signatures of Levi Eshkol, Minister of Finance, and David Zaggagi, Accountant General. It is from Series ג, a clearly identifiable and well documented issue. Obverse: Ornamental red frame with a central orange medallion featuring the denomination “50” in fine concentric line engraving. Hebrew and Arabic inscriptions identifying the note as legal tender. Reverse: Matching orange central medallion with denomination “50”, flanked by the green serial number on both sides.
