Tel Aviv – Tel Aviv Municipality Tax Payment Voucher – 50 Mils | Elul 5708 (1948) - Municipal payment voucher with a denomination of 50 mils, issued by the Tel Aviv Municipality in 1948 (Elul 5708). The voucher was intended for the payment of municipal taxes during the transitional period between the end of the British Mandate and the stabilization of the monetary system of the newly established State of Israel. General Description: The obverse bears the heading “Tel Aviv Municipality – Voucher for the Payment of Municipal Taxes, ” the denomination 50 mils, and the municipal emblem of Tel Aviv within an ornamental frame. Below appears a printed signature of the Municipal Treasurer. On the right side is a blue serial number, preceded by an asterisk (*), an identifying feature associated with a specific internal issue or variant. The reverse is plain and unprinted, showing a faint mirror impression of the emblem and ornamental design from the obverse, a characteristic feature of paper items from this period.
