Six-Day War – Conspiratorial Medallion – Operation Bazak – Israel / France 1967 - Privately issued Israeli–French medallion. A scarce private commemorative medallion issued following the Six-Day War (June 1967), bearing inscriptions in Hebrew and French. Hebrew Side The central design depicts a fighter aircraft and a tank alongside an upright Torah scroll. Hebrew inscription: “With God’s help, peace in the world was saved.” This design later gave rise, among anti-Israel circles, to absurd conspiracy theories relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks, based on the perceived resemblance between the rolled Torah scroll and the Twin Towers, and the aircraft motif directed toward it. French Side At the center appears the Israeli flag with the Star of David, accompanied by an olive branch and a sword, surrounded by a circular inscription. French inscription (continuous line): LIBERTÉ · PAIX BAZAK · SOUS L’ÉTOILE DE DAVID · CAMPAGNE DE 6 JOURS · DU 5 AU 10 JUIN 1967 · FRATERNITÉ English Translation Liberty · Peace – Fraternity · Bazak · Under the Star of David · Six-Day Campaign · From 5 to 10 June 1967 Diameter: 35 mm Metal composition: Unknown Condition Overall good condition, with light surface wear and handling marks typical of commemorative medallions from this period.
