Lot of O.P.D.A. and H.J.Z. Stamps – Imperforate – 1 mil, 5 mil, 2½ P.T, 1 P.T – E.E.F. – Rare Issues - Important and interesting group of E.E.F. (Egyptian Expeditionary Force) period stamps, with a highly significant feature: All stamps in this lot are imperforate – considerably rarer than the regular perforated issues. The stamps bear the inscriptions: O.P.D.A. – Occupied Palestine and Syrian Areas H.J.Z. – Hejaz E.E.F. Denominations included: • 1 mil • 5 mil • 2½ P.T • 1 P.T The lot includes: • Imperforate pairs (including se-tenant pairs) • Single examples • Different color shades (orange / green) • Several examples with manuscript cancellations or pen markings • Characteristic rough hand-cut margins typical of imperforate emergency printings General condition: Overall moderate condition – light creases, uneven margins, age toning on reverse; some without gum, consistent with early local printings on simple paper. Imperforate issues from this period are significantly scarcer than their perforated counterparts and represent key items in the field of British Occupation postal history of Palestine and Syria, 1917–1918.
