Franked with Austria 5 Kreuzer stamp overprinted 20 Para, tied by purple JERUSALEM – ÖSTERREICHISCHE POST datestamp (25.12.99). Postal route: Submitted for mailing in Bethlehem on 24 December 1899, carried to Jerusalem where it received the Austrian postmark, then forwarded to Germany. Arrival backstamp Bad Kissingen (Germany), 17 January 1900 on reverse. Picture side shows a colored Nativity scene with German inscription: “Zur Erinnerung an die Letzte hl. Christnacht des XIX. Jahrhunderts” (Commemorating the last Christmas night of the 19th century). Catalog references: Scott #22 / Michel 309. Condition: good overall condition with minor age toning and light creasing.
