Minhelet Ha'am Yavne’el - Interim Period Cover – JNF Label - Transitional postal history cover from the 1948 Interim Period, bearing a 3 mil Jewish National Fund label (Fluri #12a) from the Landscape series. The label is cancelled by a Minhelet Ha'am postmark of Yavne’el (Fluri #78). In the cancellation the town name appears as “Yavne’el”, but the letter “Yud” is missing, apparently due to a defective cancelling device – a noted and collectible variety of Interim Period postmarks. Addressed to: Dr. V. Hekster P.O. Box 977 Haifa Reverse with handwritten notation “JAVNE-EL.” Condition: Very good overall condition for the period with minor handling and storage marks. Significance: Scarce Interim Period postal history item showing the local use of a JNF label as provisional postage cancelled by a Minhelet Ha'am postmark.
