Copper amulet – “Vayehi Binsoa HaAron” with Kabbalistic letter combinations, North Africa or Eretz Israel, late 19th century or early 20th century - A small copper plaque, hand-engraved, with a suspension hole at the top. At the center appears the biblical passage from Numbers (10:35–36): “Vayehi binsoa ha’aron vayomer Moshe, kumah Hashem veyafutzu oyvecha veyanusu mesanecha mipanecha. Uvenucho yomar, shuvah Hashem rivvot alfei Yisrael.” Beneath the verses are combinations of letters and names in a Kabbalistic style, intended as a protective charm against harm, evil forces, and the evil eye. This combination of biblical text with mystical formulas is characteristic of folk amulets used in Jewish communities of the East and North Africa. The amulet was intended for personal wear or for hanging in the home, serving as a protective object with both religious and magical significance. Copper; hand engraving. Dimensions: approx. 3.5 × 2.7 cm. Condition: general wear and partial fading of the inscription, signs of use, original suspension hole – consistent with age.
