British Passport – Palestine, British Mandate Government, Issued 1942, Renewed 1947 - Original British Mandate passport of Palestine (Eretz Israel), passport no. 151836, issued in Jerusalem on 2 June 1942. The passport was issued to a Palestinian citizen born in Topoľčany, Slovakia, and contains the standard trilingual pages in English, Hebrew, and Arabic. The document records the holder’s personal details, including place of birth, occupation as a Government Official, physical description, and residence in Haifa. The passport remained valid through a renewal granted in 1947, shortly before the end of the British Mandate. Included are Egyptian visa stamps and border crossing markings from 1947, including entry through the Qantara crossing. Apart from these official endorsements, the passport remains largely unused, with most pages left blank. An authentic historical document from the final years of the British Mandate in Palestine, illustrating the citizenship and travel documentation system in Eretz Israel during and immediately after the Second World War. Physical Condition – Current Evaluation: Poor condition. The cloth-covered binding is heavily worn, with significant loss of material along the spine and corners. Interior pages show creasing, staining, age toning, and handling wear. The original photograph of the bearer has been cut out and removed. Nevertheless, the passport remains substantially complete and retains its identification pages, renewal endorsement, and travel stamps.
