German Catholic Pilgrimage Medal – Sacred Heart of Jesus & Our Lady of Andechs, Late 19th – Early 20th Century - Small German Catholic pilgrimage medal featuring the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the obverse, surrounded by the Latin inscription ”O MI JESU MISERICORDIA” (”O My Jesus, Mercy”). The reverse depicts Our Lady of Andechs (Unsere Liebe Frau von Andechs) seated on a throne with the Christ Child, surrounded by the inscription ”U.L. FRAU V. ANDECHS”. The medal was issued as a pilgrim's devotional souvenir for visitors to Kloster Andechs in Bavaria, one of Germany's most important Catholic pilgrimage sites.
