Palestine Medal – Eretz Israel Pavilion at the International Colonial Exhibition, Paris, 1931 - A gilt-bronze medal struck for the International Colonial Exhibition (Exposition Coloniale Internationale), held in Paris in 1931. Obverse: The Eretz Israel–Palestine Pavilion at the exhibition, its design inspired by Rachel’s Tomb. Below appears the inscription: “EXPOSITION COLONIALE INTERNATIONALE – PARIS 1931”. Reverse: An olive branch surrounded by the name “Palestine” in the three official languages of the British Mandate period – English, Hebrew and Arabic: “PALESTINE / פלשתינה / فلسطين”. Signed below by the French medallist and engraver Lucien Georges Bazor: BAZOR. The pavilion presented the development of the Jewish Yishuv and the Zionist enterprise in Eretz Israel, including industry, agriculture, Tel Aviv, the Hebrew University and Pinhas Rutenberg’s electrical projects.
