Modernist Abstract Bronze Sculpture, Mother and Child, Possibly Israeli, Second Half of the 20th Century - A figurative abstract bronze sculpture, apparently depicting a mother holding a child, with the two figures merging into a single vertical composition. The rounded, flowing upper section contrasts with the elongated, richly textured lower section, which evokes folds of drapery, small figures, or an architectural landscape. Executed in a modernist expressionist style, influenced by postwar European sculpture and related to Israeli sculptural traditions of the 1970s–1980s. The bronze bears a multicolored patina in shades of green, blue, brown, and gold and is mounted on a circular black base. Unsigned. The attribution of origin and period is approximate.
