Mexico Rare Presentation Medal – Attorney General’s Office of the Federal District, .999 Fine Silver – Mexico, Early 21st Century - A large and substantial official Mexican presentation medal issued by the Attorney General’s Office of the Federal District, formerly responsible for prosecution and criminal investigation in Mexico City. The obverse depicts blindfolded Lady Justice holding scales and a sword, superimposed on the outline of the Federal District. The surrounding Spanish inscription reads: PROCURADURÍA GENERAL DE JUSTICIA DEL DISTRITO FEDERAL. The reverse features a mountainous Mexican landscape, the institution’s emblem and the inscription MÉXICO XXI, apparently referring to Mexico in the 21st century. A small OM mark is also present; its precise attribution remains uncertain. An accompanying metal analysis recorded 99.83% silver and 0.16% copper, consistent with approximately .999 fine silver. Its weight is close to five troy ounces.
