Public Telephone Tokens – Ministry of Communications – Highly Unusual Bronze Tone – 2 Pieces - A pair of Israeli public telephone tokens issued by the Ministry of Communications, featuring a central hole and the leaping gazelle emblem. The obverse bears “Telephone” in Hebrew and Arabic; the reverse depicts a rotary dial with the Hebrew inscription “Ministry of Communications.” Both tokens display a highly unusual golden-bronze tone, distinctly different from the appearance normally encountered on this type. It is unknown whether these represent a rare production variety, a later-applied coating or another form of alteration made by a previous owner. They are therefore offered without a definitive determination regarding the origin of the unusual coloration. Weight: 5.22 g and 5.24 g. Signs of use, wear and minor imperfections. Please examine the photographs for a complete impression and independent grading.
