Two 1 Lira Coins 1977–1978 – Unusual Bronze Color - Two Israeli 1 Lira circulation coins dated 1977 and 1978, KM# 47, displaying a highly unusual golden-bronze color compared with the normal copper-nickel issue. It is unknown whether these are rare metallic variants, coins affected by chemical or environmental toning, plated pieces, or coins altered by a previous owner. Their actual weights—9.15 and 8.96 grams—are close to the standard weight of 9 grams and therefore do not establish a different metal composition. Offered as found, without any guarantee that they represent mint errors or officially recognized varieties. Obverse: denomination “1 Israeli Lira, ” date and two stars. Reverse: three pomegranates, State of Israel emblem and “Israel” in Hebrew, Arabic and English.
