2 Israeli Mint Error Coins – 5 Agorot 1980 Extremely Weak Strike, Unstruck 1 Agora Blank - Lot comprising two unusual Israeli coins: A 5 Agorot coin, apparently dated 5740 (1980), displaying a severe minting error. Most of the design and inscriptions on both sides are almost entirely absent, while the numeral 5 and part of the date remain faintly visible. The surfaces show roughness, wear and scratches. An unstruck aluminum blank intended for a 1 Agora coin from Israel’s Lira series. Scalloped form with 12 lobes, approximately 20 mm in diameter; weight: 1.18 g. Both sides are entirely unstruck and display processing marks and scratches. Interesting pieces for collectors of mint errors and coin-production material. The 5 Agorot piece is described as a mint error based on its appearance; later wear or mechanical alteration cannot be completely excluded. Please examine the photographs carefully for condition and independent assessment.
