Gilt 800 Silver Box Set with Coloured Glass | First Half to Mid-20th Century - A small rectangular box, probably intended for jewellery, snuff, or personal objects, crafted in 800-grade silver with a gilt finish. The hinged lid features intricate pierced openwork depicting scrolling branches, leaves, and tendrils, set with dozens of polished coloured-glass elements in shades including red, purple, green, blue, yellow, orange, and clear. The borders are decorated with engraved geometric patterns. The underside is richly engraved with a dense composition of flowers, leaves, and scrolling foliage in an Orientalist style. Gilt interior. Stamped 800. Origin unidentified. The inset elements have not been gemologically tested and are described as coloured glass. Weight: 81.37 g. Dimensions: 8 × 5 cm. Height: 1.5 cm.
