Reuven Rubin Birth Centenary – State Medal, .999 Silver – Self-Portrait – 1993 - An official State Medal issued to commemorate the centenary of Israeli artist Reuven Rubin’s birth, in the .999 fine silver version. The obverse features a color reproduction of Rubin’s “Self-Portrait by an Olive Tree, ” depicting the artist seated before an easel, accompanied by an olive tree and a white dove. The surrounding inscriptions read “Reuven Rubin Centenary, ” the corresponding Hebrew text, and the dates 1893–1993. The reverse bears a relief based on Rubin’s work “Saul and David, ” depicting the young David playing the harp at Saul’s feet, with the inscription “שאול ודוד – Saul and David.” .999 silver. Diameter: 50 mm. Weight: approx. 60 g. Individually numbered on the edge. Presented in its original folding olivewood display case with blue velvet lining.
